Do Violent Video Games Make People More Violent in Real Life? The American Psychological Association reports that more than 90% of children in the United States play video games.Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17, the number rises to 97%. The psychological group also reported that 85% or more of video games on the market contain some form of violence (Do Video Games Lead to Violence). A video game may be considered violent if it contains â€Å"violent† language, gore/blood, and crime. Video games are given parental levels of what age is mature enough to play that game. A video game with a higher parental level should be played by a more mature audience. After twelve minutes of this mission, you’ve gunned down 21 people and one dog. Most fall amidst head-shot geysers of blood. Some unknown number have been killed by rock et launcher or machine gun, their deaths lost in the haze. Every now and then, blood spatters onto the screen, as if in your eyes. It’s a bloodfest. It’s also glorious fun, a well-designed piece of action-hero arcade blockbuster thumb candy. For the very same reasons it’s so appealing, it’s difficult not to be troubled, too. Another violent video game that has been reported is Mortal Kombat. In 1993, public outcry following the release of a violent video Mortal Kombat prompted Congress to hold hearings on regulating the sale of video games.
